Sara
There were plenty of smaller loud yippy dogs that day waiting for someone to adopt them. Sara was sitting off in the corner of her kennel looking very lonely. As I walked around all of the kennels checking out the various dogs I always returned to Sara’s Kennel. And each time she would graciously approach me looking for someone to pet her. We ended up leaving without taking anyone home.
Cheryl left town a few days later to visit her family. The following weekend I had to run back to PetSmart to pick up some additional things for Diamond. When I’d entered PetSmart on Saturday, August 8th there sat Sara, still waiting for someone to take her to her furever home. Sara was part of the LuluBelle Animal Rescue group. I’d reached out to Cheryl and we decided I should take Sara for a home visit to see how she & Diamond would get along. Within 5 minutes of having Sara at our house the two of them were cuddling with each other at my feet. After spending a few hours at the house it was time to take Sara back to LuluBelle. Upon returning to PetSmart & LuluBelle Cheryl give me a call to see how the Home Visit went. She could tell how excited I was to have spent the time with Sara & how well Sara and Diamond got along. We decided we should be the lucky ones to provide Sara her last furever home.
Annie
I knew the moment we walked in that we were going home with another pup. Cheryl said “Oh look, there’s Annie… I feel so bad for her. She was picked up as a Stray and has been adopted and returned twice already. Poor puppy“. We checked out all of the dogs for quite some time and Cheryl kept going back to Annie.
Annie was full of energy climbing all over the other dog in the same kennel as her… the other dog being Benjamin, a 5 yr old Aussie mix. After chatting a bit about what we were going to do it was decided that I needed to go rearrange the items we had in the truck for we were taking two dogs for “Home Visit’s” with Sara.
Benjamin
Annie was bouncing all over Benjamin trying to get any attention she could from anyone. Benjamin just laid there like an older sibling ignoring their younger sister. He was so mellow as if he didn’t have a care in the world. Truth be told poor Benjamin being an older dog, a 5 yr old Aussie mix may have been thinking no one wants an older dog. Everyone wants a younger puppy to raise as their own. I saw Benjamin as the perfect companion, one who would be thrilled to be laying at my feet, fellow me where ever I go, and greet me at the door when I came home. We started to debate about what we were going to do; were we taking Annie home, taking Benjamin home, not taking either one or are we taking both?
Cheryl & I both knew if we took either one home, as long as they got along with Sara they would not be returning. After chatting for a bit it was decided that I needed to go rearrange the items we had in the truck for we were taking two dogs for “Home Visit’s” with Sara.
